The Farm
-

Cwm Cottage is a smallholding in the heart of the Cascob Valley, mid-Wales. Here we keep Welsh Black Mountain Sheep, a hardy and traditional breed that wander our fields and rest beneath the hedgerows and trees.

We invite you to do the same — slow down, take it easy, and enjoy the peace of the countryside. Spend a little time sitting quietly and you’ll soon notice the wildlife all around. You might spot a hare darting across the meadow or hear the call of the cuckoo echoing through the valley.

This is a working farm, so during your stay you may see us going about our daily jobs, giving you a true taste of rural life.

Radnor Forest
-

The Radnor Forest was once a royal hunting ground which wasn't a forest in the modern sense of being a heavily wooded area, but in the medieval sense of "forest" being an unenclosed area used for hunting deer.

The Forest is now managed by Natural Resources Wales. There are three, free car parks within the Radnor Forest Area. Warren Wood, near New Radnor, Fishpools, near Bleddfa and Nash Wood, near Presteigne.

The forest is open to all on foot, horseback and mountain bike. Offering numerous rights of way to follow and explore.

According to a legend, the local people built five churches around the Radnor Forest in order to contain the last dragon in Wales, who lays sleeping in the middle. All the churches are dedicated to St Michael, some people believe if any of the churches were to be destroyed, the dragon would awaken...
